Welcome to our website FLIGHT TO FLINDERS ISLAND.

After reading Bob Mainwaring's book, "The Gold Coast Settlers", I originally thought it would be really interesting to follow up on the many people who went to Flinders because of the Soldier Settlement Scheme. My ideas have broadened to include all people connected to Flinders, past and present. I am hoping many will contribute so we have a rich collection of stories and pictures of life on Flinders Island. I have chosen a website rather than a book so our stories and photos can be a continuing history and hopefully friendships rekindled.

I ask all contributors to choose to respect others by only writing stories which will not offend anyone. I would not like anyone to be upset or hurt in any way.

I am grateful, excited and very appreciative of the gift of this website that our son Saul has created with much thought and skill for us all.

My life changed greatly because my parents were adventurous enough to choose to live on Flinders. I eagerly await lots of wonderful memories.
